April 21 Update Graphic

April 21, 2021

Good afternoon Warren Students, Families, and Staff,

We have a few important updates below:

Linked here is our district newsletter for the month of April.  It can also be found on our website by clicking on Newsroom under the Explore Tab. I would like to highlight that May 3 - 7 is staff appreciation week. I hope you will join me that week  in celebrating our 1,500 inCREdible Warren staff!

Warren will be hosting a K - 8 summer school from June 7 - June 18th to support students for next school year. Due to limited capacity at each grade level, parents and caregivers are encouraged to register right away at bit.ly//msdwarrensummer2021. If your child’s grade level is not listed, please contact your child’s school to be placed on the waiting list. There is no charge for summer school and transportation, as well as breakfast and lunch will be provided.

Currently, anyone ages 16 and older may now schedule a COVID-19 vaccination appointment. Please visit ourshot.in.gov to register or call 211 if you do not have access to a computer or need assistance.

As we head into the last 26 days of the school year, I cannot emphasize enough the importance of attendance and participation in school assignments. I know this has been a difficult year for everyone and the stronger we finish this year, the better prepared we will be for the 21-22 school year.

Lastly, our communities both near and far continue to be impacted by senseless killings and gun violence. I want to remind our families that all of our schools have counselors and access to additional resources should your child or family need them. Please do not hesitate to contact your child’s principal or teacher if you see the need. You can also contact our Moorhead Community Resource Center if you have needs beyond what the school can provide. You can call 317-608-0545 or email MSDWarrenOutreach@warren.k12.in.us with your request.

Have a great rest of your week and thank you for your investment in Warren students and schools.

Dr. Tim Hanson, Superintendent of Schools for MSD Warren Township
